Ashley is a graduate of the MFA Interior Design program at Parsons School of Design in New York City, where her thesis explored the role of participatory design in equitable suburban renewal – focusing on a case study of her community in metro Atlanta. She received her BFA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she utilized her American Studies degree to focus on the role of vernacular architecture and historic preservation in the role of place making and community.

Ashley is AC Architecture + Design's Lead Designer and Owner, part of a compressive design team whose goal is to provide the best possible experience for our clients. Ashley has been a guest lecturer (The Political Power of Interiors - Parsons School of Design, Intro to Interiors - Chattahoochee Technical College), hosted events (ADAC, West Elm), and been a guest critic (Pratt Institute, Parsons School of Design). She has received several awards and recognitions, including winning the Yabu Pushelburg Scholarship, placing as a finalist in the yearly DIFFA design competition, and for outstanding research in her MFA Thesis project.

 

As a designer, her diverse background in commercial, residential, and non-profit design over the last 8+ years has taught Ashley how to adapt to a myriad of situations, budgets, and requirements. Her passion for history, preservation, and people have always been part of the drive behind her work. She continues to explore the relationship between people, culture, and space – with a focus on the roles of representation and agency in process place making.
